Passion is key says Great British Bake Off finalist Brendan Lynch

A Great British Bake Off contestant gave a baking demonstration at a care home in Bradford on Avon.

Brendan Lynch reached the finals of last year's competition, losing out on the title to John Whaite.

He visited residents at the Wiltshire Heights Care Home to demonstrate some of his baking and talk about the show.

Mr Lynch said the most important ingredient for a baker was passion.

"If that is present, you will overcome any obstacles that you inevitably meet."

He added that people needed time to practise and top-quality guidance.

He added: "Finally, in order to perfect your bakes, create a network of tasters that will give honest feedback on your creations. With these four ingredients, you will be well on your way to acquiring a lifelong skill."
