Bath Rugby are eyeing up the first silverware of the season on Monday when Bath United travel to Northampton Wanderers in the Aviva A League final (7.30pm).
South Conference winners United qualified for the final with a 39-21 victory over Sale Jets last month. Northampton were 39-30 winners over Harlequins in the other last-four clash and the match will take place at Franklin's Gardens due to Wanderers' higher try count in Northern Conference.
Bath head coach Mike Ford says picking up a trophy on the road would be a special achievement for the club.
"Playing away from home against Northampton makes the game juicy and it's really exciting that we could go to someone else's home and get some silverware – we're looking forward to it," said Ford.
"You only really start thinking you can get to the final when you're in the semi-finals. Once your there and you're at home you start thinking about winning it.
"Neal Hatley, Danny Grewcock and Dave Williams have taken charge and have prepared the team really well."
Bath are expected to name a large group of Academy members in the United side for Monday's clash, with the club's youngsters having impressed throughout the competition.
Ford says their A League success has helped to boost the strength of the whole squad as they fight for honours on four fronts this term.
"Those guys are getting a good run of game time," he said.
"They've had all the A League games and the semi-final, some of them played in the LV= Cup and some played against Mogliano last Saturday.
"If you don't make the [A League] semi-finals you can possibly go three or four weeks without playing."
