Does Christmas get you down? Are you fed up of it before it's even properly begun? Then Emma Bryant has the perfect solution for you!
We all a get a bit jaded about the festive season sometimes.
We lose the magical innocence of a child so quickly — especially when we have to organise everything, pay for everything, and pretend to enjoy everything!
So how do we recapture that sense of magic? How do we believe in Christmas again?
Our advice is get yourself down to Bluestone in Pembrokeshire ASAP.
Their annual Kingdom of the Elves Christmas experience is the ultimate medicine to your bah humbug illness!
So what is Kingdom of the Elves?
Both children and adults are part of an amazing interactive festive journey. Played out via a series of wonderfully decorated Christmas rooms, each staffed by a different elf, the excitement builds as the children are tested to see if they believe in Christmas and whether they can pass the elf test.
The pure joy and happiness on the kids faces is enough to melt even Scrooge's cold heart.
You start the fun in the Perfect Elf's home where you and your little elves in training get to put on elf uniform and are set the challenge of becoming a fully fledged Christmas elf.
Our favourite elf room was the E-maginarium which looked like something out of the Toy Story films thanks to the blue sky walls and the massive Mr Potato Head that greeted us.
All of the "elves" were lots of fun and they all created such a wonderful atmosphere.
But beware if you are the tallest of the group — you will soon become their guinea pig, so make sure you stoop if you're not up for a bit of rapping or break dancing!
Set within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Bluestone is a holiday complex, built in the form of a holiday village, located between Canaston Bridge and Martletwy. There's plenty at the park to keep families entertained. The Kingdom of the Elves event takes place indoors in the Adventure Centre which is also home to a giant countryside themed adventure playground. There is also a soft play area with ball pool, spiral slide and bouncy castle to keep the younger ones active and mini golf. Upstairs has a mezzanine level — with access to the high ropes course, a viewing area overlooking the main hall with the Wild Wood Café.
The Blue Lagoon waterpark features an indoor wave machine, a rapids river ride and two enclosed flume rides that leave the coracle-shaped building and bring you back into the main swimming area at pool level.
A lazy river exits the building to an outdoor bubble pool. There is an outdoor and indoor spa pool ideal for relaxation and fun, two interactive wet play areas – one for very young children, the other for the not so young.
There are loungers, patios, observation decks and timber walkways and the temperatures and humidity within the structure are maintained at constantly perfect levels thanks to the nearby energy centre, which is fuelled by woodchip and miscanthus grown by local farmers.
There's even a tournament field where families can compete at the medieval sports of archery, crossbow and catapult, or the more modern laser shoot.
Guests stay in luxury timber lodges carefully positioned in the hillside and around the lake, with landscaping and planting that strikes a perfect balance between privacy and community. All the lodges are fully equipped to a high standard ensuring that guests have a real home away from home experience.
Kingdom of the Elves runs until January 3.
