Hundreds of people in Bath have donated clothes and much-needed items to help victims of the Philippines typhoon.
Bath charity Mercy in Action called for donations to support those who had lost everything in the wake of the disaster and has been overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals, schools and businesses across the city.
A container full of items left Bath this week and is en route to the Philippines, with another due to follow shortly. The first was filled with 1,250 shoe boxes packed with rice, tinned meat, fish, other food items such as tinned fruit, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and flannels.
There were also 65 tents, 150 bags of clothes, water, bedding, and other toiletries.
One of the founders John Todd has stayed in Bath to co-ordinate efforts while his wife Allison is in the Philippines directing the Mercy in Action relief effort.

Raquel, who is orginally from the Philippines, said: "My mother was born in Tacloban which is one of the worst affected areas and it's really shocking to see the devastation there. I am lucky that my family has not been directly affected, but it makes me so sad to see my people struggling to survive and rebuild their lives.
"I just want to help."
