People in Bath are being asked for their views on the care provided by the Royal United Hospital.
The Care Quality Commission will be inspecting the hospital next month and England's new chief inspector of hospitals Professor Sir Mike Richards is inviting people to tell the inspection panel what they think of the services provided.
A 'listening event' will take place on Thursday December 5 at 6.30pm at Bath Racecourse.
Sir Mike said: "The new inspections are designed to provide people with a clear picture of the quality of the services in their local hospital, exposing poor or mediocre care, as well as highlighting the many hospitals providing good and excellent care.
"This is your opportunity to tell me and my team what you think, and make a difference to the NHS services in the local area."
The RUH has been at the wrong end of two critical inspections already this year.
Next month's inspection is expected to look in detail at seven key service areas: A&E, medical care, surgery, intensive/critical care, paediatrics/children's care, end of life care, and outpatients.
