More than 30,000 people have clicked 'download' to find out more about Bath.
The Official Bath App, launched a year ago, has become the most downloaded destination app outside London, beating off competition from the likes of Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh and Brighton.
The app is a joint project between Bath Tourism Plus and Bath Business Improvement District (BID), and aims to promote all the city has to offer to tourists and locals.
The app provides full coverage of events, attractions, shops, restaurants and accommodation, and the inclusion of directions, opening times, prices and deals has made it a must-have for Bath lovers.
To mark its first year, a number of changes have been introduced to the app to make it even more user-friendly, with more information about offers and events, as well as increased loading speeds and responsiveness.
A new 'geo-fencing' feature enables visitors to receive notifications on their phone from businesses in the immediate area, promoting events and discounts.
The updated app has been tailored to make navigation easier for foreign visitors.
A Getting to Bath feature has also been added telling visitors about car parking and other public transport.
BID manager Andrew Cooper said: "It is fantastic to see that the app is proving popular among visitors and residents, and we are confident that the upgraded app will encourage even more people to visit Bath and make the most of their time here."
Chief executive of Bath Tourism Plus, Nick Brooks-Sykes, said: "Bath businesses now need to take advantage of the marketing opportunities that this new technology presents; there are lots of ways in which business can benefit."
