Kettles will be boiled and cakes baked to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support tomorrow.

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning extravaganza will see people holding coffee mornings at venues across Bath and north east Somerset.

Money raised will help the charity provide support and advice to those diagnosed with cancer.

Staff at the Hop Pole pub, in Limpley Stoke, will be taking part, and hoping to sell as many cakes as possible to support Macmillan.

There will also be coffee and a raffle.

Another coffee morning is taking place at Combe Down Rugby club from 11am to 5pm.

As well as the sweet treats there will be bouncy castles, face-painting, and a bric-a- brac stall.

At 4pm seven brave men will be having their legs waxed.

Those unable to attend the event can donate by texting COFFEE 95E to 70550.

Paralympic gold medallist Liz Johnson, who trains in Bath, is supporting the event after she lost her mum to the disease.

Swimmer Liz, 27, was inspired to support the charity after her mum Bonnie, 52, died from cervical cancer in 2008.

Last year 239 individuals, businesses, schools and community groups in the city took part and raised £23,777.

Another fundraiser next month is a Teddy Bear Artist event being held in Bath.

The event is organised by House of Bears in Broad Street, in honour of its sixth birthday.

Artists were challenged to create bears in line with the theme of children's literature.

The exhibition takes place at the shop on Saturday October 5, and entrance is free.

Each bear will be sold to raise money for Macmillan.

One bear exhibited is Tailor, made by Elanor Andrews.

It is based on the story The Tailor of Gloucester, by Beatrix Potter.
