The Great Gatsby actress Carey Mulligan is asking Corsham residents to put on their walking shoes and support Memory Walk.
Memory Walk is the Alzheimer's Society's biggest annual fundraiser and is taking place this Sunday.
Carey, who is an Alzheimer's ambassador, said: "Alzheimer's Society is a cause very close to my heart as my nan has dementia so I grew up experiencing the effects the condition has on her.
"That's why I am supporting Memory Walk.
"It gives us the opportunity to really make a difference to those living with dementia and their carers."
She added: "Memory Walk is a great opportunity for the whole family to spend a day out together whilst also raising money for such an important cause."
This year's Corsham Memory Walk, which is being held in partnership with Bupa Care Homes, takes place in Corsham Park, starting at 2pm, and is open to people of all ages, including children and grandparents.
Rachael Sweet, from Alzheimer's Society in Wiltshire, urged people to sign up and take part.
