Children's campaigner, Camila Batmanghelidjh, will be in Bath next week.
The charity leader will be a keynote speaker for a Creative Bath event, where she will talk about her work with children over the last 20 years and explore the relationship between creativity and the management of trauma.
Ms Batmanghelidjh, pictured, a trained psychotherapist, started her first charity Place 2 Be when she was 25, and has since been the driving force behind several charities supporting children and young people. More recently she started Kids Company, which provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.
Since the organisation launched more than 13 years ago Ms Batmanghelidjh has helped to raise £50 million and has re-mortgaged her flat twice to keep the charity going as it has struggled to find funding.
Ms Batmanghelidjh will be appearing in the Brunswick Room at the Guildhall on Monday, September 2, from 6pm. Tickets are £12 each and can be bought from www.creativebath.org.
