Descendants of an 18th-century engineering wizard have visited a piece of canal heritage designed by him on the edge of Bath.
The team responsible for restoring the Claverton water driven canal pump explained its workings to members of the Rennie family.
Among them were the great, great, great grandsons of engineer John Rennie, who built the Kennet and Avon Canal and the unique pump 200 years ago.
Brothers John, Ronald and Ian were present, with Ronald on holiday from his home in Texas.
They were shown a model of the water-driven pump on their visit to the Claverton Pumping Station.
