Work on a new arts centre at the University of Bath has begun.
The Centre for the Arts will include performance and dance studios, art galleries, two artists' studios, an ensemble rehearsal room, several music practice rooms, offices, as well as a cafe.
The official turf-cutting ceremony has taken place, overseen by director of the university's Institute of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts John Struthers.
The new Centre for the Arts is due to be completed in late 2014 and forms part of the university's £100 million three-year campus improvement project.
