Cars which help wage a double battle against pollution have taken to the roads in Bath.
The low emission vehicles promote health organisation Sirona's Healthy Lifestyle Service by day – encouraging people to give up smoking.
Their green credentials also help cut Sirona's carbon footprint. The branded vehicles are provided by Go-Low, a social enterprise car club, and are available for public use at night.
The Smokers Wanted branding forms part of a Bath and north east Somerset-wide campaign by Sirona to encourage smokers to seek free advice and support to quit.
Richard Merrett, health development manager for Sirona's lifestyles service, said: "This is a great partnership with Go-Low because not only are we concerned about the health of the B&NES population by advertising our Smokers Wanted campaign on one car and the Healthy Lifestyle Service on the other, we are also helping to contribute to improving the environment they live in – this is a win, win situation."
Matthew Whitney, Go-Low's development co-ordinator, said: "It's a low emission vehicle which has the dual use of being a pool car for Sirona during the day and available to the general public to use in the evening which makes the best use of resources.
"We are hoping to develop a network of them across Bath and Bristol so different organisations can share each other's resources. We're delighted to be working with Sirona."
Sirona finance director Richard Tarring added: "This is another example of how the ethos of Sirona as a social enterprise of caring for the community is put into action."
