Actress Julia Sawalha, who lives in Lansdown, answers the questions in our My Bath feature

What's your favourite part of Bath?

Goodness, I love all of it. I don't have a particular favourite. So many areas in Bath have something special to offer. The city has an extremely calming and healing effect on me.

Where's the best place to eat?

The Circus in Brock Street. Very nice atmosphere and excellent local produce.

What's the best view in the city?

I would have to say the view from the top floor of my house! I can see right out over the city and at sunset it looks magical.

What would your perfect day in Bath entail?

A yoga lesson in the morning at Yoga Bodhi in Bartlett Street, some retail therapy in Broad Street, my hair done at Melanie Giles, then catch a film at the Little Theatre cinema. Bliss.

Where would you meet friends for a drink?

Sam's Kitchen in Walcot Street, fantastic coffee and cakes, or if someone is in need of something a little stronger, the Canary bar in Queen Street.

What's your favourite shop?

Susannah's in Broad Street. Filled with beautiful antique textiles, lace, ribbons and furniture. It is an Aladdin's Cave filled with antiquities you won't find anywhere else in Bath. My idea of heaven.

What one thing about Bath would you change?

The parking machines returning your change!
