Chef Jackson Hacker returns in bid to save Richmond Arms

A well-known chef is returning to the city to help in a campaign to keep a Bath pub open.

Jackson Hacker has returned to the Richmond Arms at Lansdown, after a short spell in France.

The chef opened a pop-up restaurant at the Richmond Arms last year. It was his first solo venture and he quickly gained a foodie fan base.

Temporary chefs have been keeping the kitchens going at the pub during the last few months but Mr Hacker has now come back to take over the helm.

Mr Hacker's return comes just weeks before Bath and North East Somerset Council decides if the Richmond Arms can be designated an Asset of Community Value.

The designation would give residents time to make a bid for the building if it was put up for sale by Punch, possibly through a community co-operative.

Last month a planning application to convert the pub into a house was refused by the local authority.

A decision is due on July 22.
