A Bath woman is realising her late husband's dream by opening her own cafe less than a year after he died.
Corinna Athay has launched Bernie's Bistro, in Weston High Street, in memory of her husband Bernie, who died in August, aged 76, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
She said the business, which she has set up with her brother Carl Buck, would be a lasting tribute to him.
"He was a chef all his life," she said, "and it was a dream he had. There was quite a lump in my throat when the sign went up. It was a sad moment, but I know he would have been so proud."
Mrs Athay, a 56-year-old grandmother-of-seven, said it was a family business.
Her niece Charlotte is one of those working behind the till, while two young volunteers with learning difficulties will be completing shifts with their carers.
