Jurassic spark . . . Bath grandad builds Wyatt a dinosaur

One three-year-old from Bath will be the envy of all his friends after his grandad built him his own dinosaur. Little Wyatt Cozens, who has Down's syndrome, is crazy about dinosaurs. As a special surprise his grandad Nick built him one in his shed, which Wyatt has named RAAARRRR. Mr Cozens, a driving instructor from Batheaston, said: "Wyatt loves dinosaurs so I decided to build him one. "He was a bit scared of it at first, but now he is used to it he loves it." Mr Cozens started building the dinosaur at Christmas, and finished it a few months ago. It is made out of recyclable materials, including Christmas wrapping paper, and cardboard. Mr Cozens said: "I had never made anything like this before, but thought I would have a go. "It wasn't too hard, and I am pleased with the end result." The dinosaur is now moving to his new home at Broadlands cider farm, box road, Bathford, where he will be raising money for Portage. Portage is an educational programme for disabled children who have difficulty in learning basic skills, due to either physical or behavioural issues. The charity has supported Wyatt and his family. Wyatt's mother Laura said: "They have been fantastic with Wyatt, and in supporting all of us. "We have all been given help in learning makaton, and they have supported us to find a nursery for Wyatt. "We wanted to give something back and raise money for them." To find out more visit www.portage.org.uk.
