At a loose end during the week ahead? Here's our at-a-glance guide to ten things to do in Bath during the coming week:
Make sure you catch East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon at the Rondo tonight (7.30pm) and Saturday (2.30pm). Featuring talking animals, enchanted castles, live music and exploding trolls, this is a visual treat.
Visit 'Living Numbers', an art exhibition that takes place in the former Officers Club retail store located at 35-36 Stall Street, Bath. The exhibition is curated by Peta Lloyd. Peta has selected artists whose work involves translating numbers into contemporary artworks.
Go see Rich McMahon who is playing Chapel Arts Centre, Bath, on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Birmingham based Songwriter and Performer Rich McMahon presents an Irish-themed show that explores ideas about national identity, myth and prejudice in a way that is both entertaining and thought provoking.
As you're spoilt for choice at Bath's International Music Festival, make sure you try to check out as much as you can during the Party in the City tonight. What a way to kick things off in style.
There's plenty on during the Fringe too, but when The Sulis Ensemble and The Stringbeans, Bath's hottest chamber music ensembles, join forces for a glorious afternoon of string music at The Spiegeltent, on Sunday (2pm), you'd be bonkers to miss it.
Be sure to go see Eidolon, by Francesca Mountfort and Tom Hume, which visits the Mission Theatre as part of the Bath Fringe Festival. This award-winning collaboration will mesmerise and enchant, transporting you to another world, out of space and out of time.
Janet and Allan Ahlberg's much-loved book is brought to life on stage in Each Peach Pear Plum (Tuesday and Wednesday) and Graffiti Classics (Saturday, June 1) combines classical music and visual comedy for young audiences at the egg theatre. Call 01225 823409.
Local band Plucky Purcell will be playing a duo of gigs in Bath, opening the festival at the Party in the City. Catch them at Bath Rugby Club tomorrow or in the Spiegletent on Saturday ... or why not do both?
Love theatre? Love rock 'n' roll? Love both? Well do check out Shakespeare Rattle and Roll at the Assembly Inn, tonight from 7.30pm. Shakespeare's original songs are interpreted in the styles of Elvis, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and many others.
Brilliant Beasts are at the Roman Baths, from Monday to Friday, May 31 (10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm). Let the kids get inspired by animals found in the Roman Baths collection to make a beastly fridge magnet!
