Staff, pupils and parents at a Bath school exercised together to celebrate healthy lifestyles.

King Edward's Pre-Prep and Nursery has been awarded the Healthy Schools Certificate from Bath and North East Somerset Council.

A healthy eating and exercise week was organised to celebrate the achievement, with a number of activities designed to get people moving. It included a Golden Mile at Bathampton Playing Fields, where people could jog, walk or run around the route.

There was also a Walk to School Wednesday, with children enjoying a healthy breakfast together before lessons started, an evening cycle ride through the Two Tunnels, as well as an opportunity for pupils to contribute towards a healthy recipe book.

Julia Acklam, from the school, said: "The aim of the week was to emphasise the importance of a balanced diet and regular exercise.

"The children have been keeping a diary of the food they eat and the exercise they take so they can review whether they have a balanced diet and regular exercise during the week."
