Hundreds of lanterns lit up the sky in tribute to a popular young Bath shop worker who has died from cancer.
Carl John Wheeler, who was known as CJ, passed away at the Dorothy House hospice at Winsley just three weeks after being diagnosed with the disease.
Friends turned up at Pennyquick Park, in Twerton, at the weekend to release lanterns into the sky in the 22-year-old's memory.
The event was organised by family friend Midge Davies, who was overwhelmed by the level of support shown.
CJ grew up in Peasedown St John with his parents Nigel and Julie and 18-year-old sister Holly.
He attended Peasedown St John Primary School and, after the family moved to Bath, went to what was then Culverhay School.
After leaving school, CJ worked for his dad, helping him with his hot tub and swimming pool business, before joining Argos.
Friends say he was very popular, and loved sport, playing rugby and football, and supporting Arsenal.
A statement from his family said: "CJ was a lovely caring boy who would always look out for others.
"He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends."
CJ spent his final week being cared for by nurses at Dorothy House.
His parents said they were very grateful for the loving, compassionate care that CJ and the whole family received.
To show their gratitude they have set up a fund called a Tulip Fund to raise money for the charity.
Friends and family are planning various fundraising events to support Dorothy House in CJ's memory.
