A free web guide that aims to put essential school information at parents' fingertips has been launched by a Bath firm today.
Alamex's School Guide - schoolguide.co.uk - brings school statistics together in one place from several websites including the Department of Education and Ofsted, aiming to make it quick and easy for parents to choose the best school for their child.
People can find any school in England with an interactive search tool and see current data in a clear visual format.
They can compare local schools at the touch of a button and comment on schools by adding comments via Facebook.
One mother, Kate Betts from Bath, said she had already found the site invaluable.
She said: "Even as a primary teacher myself I don't really know where to start with schools. This site means that in two minutes I have pretty much made up my mind about where my son will go to school next September."
Neil Stanley, managing director of Walcot Street firm Alamex said: "Our ratings range from one to five stars and are intended to give an unbiased and easy to understand summary of how well each school has performed that year."
