Fire crews put out a blaze in a house in Bath after the building was struck by lightning last night.
Eyewitnesses say a woman was in the house at The Oval at the time of the incident, which came on a night of heavy rain in the city.
It is understood no one was hurt in the fire.
Avon Fire and Rescue said it was called at 8.08pm, with three fire engines attending.
It said the fire was in the roof space and was "of accidental ignition."
A fire engine with an aerial unit to tackle flames from above was involved, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went inside.
The brigade has not said how much damage was done.
