A man was left with serious facial injuries after being attacked in broad daylight outside Bath bus station.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault on the 53-year-old man, which happened at around 11.30am on Monday.
The victim was sitting on a bench by the Dorchester Street station when his assailant asked him for a light before punching him twice in the face and walking off.
The victim was taken to the Royal United Hospital for treatment to a broken nose and a suspected fractured cheek.
His attacker is described as white, in his 30s, around 6ft tall and of thin build with short dark hair. He was wearing a white round-neck T-shirt, white shorts and white Nike trainers.
Police say the area was reasonably busy with pedestrians and vehicles at the time. Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference number 0162.
