New buildings in Bath are in the running for a host of awards this spring.

Stillpoint Clinic off Walcot Street has been shortlisted for the South West 2013 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) award.

Designed by local architect, Piers Taylor, the clinic, which opened last autumn, is Bath's longest-established health centre for alternative therapies.

Elsewhere, Hayesfield School, the University of Bath and the Kingston Mills development in Bradford On Avon have all been shortlisted in the 2013 Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) South West and Wales Awards.

Hayesfield School, which has been shortlisted in the Community Benefit category, has seen a lot of development in recent years with the completion of the £10-million The West Wing – a purpose-built sports and performing arts scheme.

Last year the school opened a new £3-million science block called Nucleus on the lower school site.

The building was made using the latest sustainable technology and includes a less than zero carbon construction system, which was researched at the University of Bath and consists of prefabricated panels filled with straw bales.

The East Building at the University of Bath has been shortlisted in the Design and Innovation category.

The Claverton campus building includes a 350-seat lecture theatre, a floor of general teaching accommodation and two floors of open plan office space.

The Linden Homes Kingston Mills housing development in Bradford On Avon has been shortlisted in the Regeneration category.

The winners of the 2013 RIBA award are due to be announced shortly but the 2013 RICS South West and Wales Awards will not be announced until May.

The winners of the Regeneration, Community Benefit, Building Conservation, Design and Innovation categories will be entered into the national RICS Awards Grand Final, to be held in London later this year.
