Pete McCormack provides a fan's view on events at Bath City Football Club...
As an avid Bath City fan who now lives too far away to get enough matches, Bank Holidays are always a great time for me to get to watch them play.
Christmas was a disaster, with only one match going ahead, but Easter provided two games in three days and it was great to catch up with old friends on the terraces – particularly the fellow exiles.
Saturday's win at Maidenhead was hard fought, with the home side missing a number of chances on a poor surface as Elliott Chamberlain's first-half goal proved enough to secure three vital away points.
It was disappointing to hear that Elliott had opted to return to Exeter and that left City with just Charlie Griffin up front for the Easter Monday game.
It was a role he performed well, though, and if his second-half header had been an inch or two lower City would have surely taken all three points.
With Aaron Brown and Sekani Simpson providing a lot of width, I was impressed with City's approach play and defensively we were rarely troubled.
A draw was a fair result and more proof that City undoubtedly do better against quality opposition.
It really has been an excellent two weeks for City – five games unbeaten, confidence growing and mid-table safety almost secured.
The Easter Monday crowd was a bit more encouraging. The attendance of 731 was the second biggest this season but that is in the context of a dramatic slump in numbers attending this term.
In my view, the club still doesn't do enough to raise its profile in the city. I came to the game by train with my son, Joe, and noticed the number of father and son combos decked in red heading for relegation-bound Bristol City.
Many got on the train at Oldfield Park. It would be great if we could get more people from Bath to head to Mayday Trust Park instead.
With just four league games to go, it is hard to pick a player of the season as we have been so inconsistent in a largely forgettable campaign.
Early on Chris Allen impressed but he has fallen away since Christmas. Once he got the goalkeeping jersey from Glyn Garner, Jason Mellor has regularly done his stuff after a few early howlers.
Maybe someone else will strengthen their claim in the week ahead against Chelmsford and Paulton Rovers.
