The architect behind the new expansion of the Holburne Museum is to receive an honorary degree from the University of Bath.
Eric Parry is one of four honorary graduates who will be recognised at the winter ceremonies next week at the Assembly Rooms.
Joining him will be Professor John Westwick, the head of the university's department of pharmacy and pharmacology, Professor Teresa Rees, a social scientist who specialises in gender inequalities, and the university's student accommodation manager Del Davies, who is retiring this month after 20 years of service.
The annual ceremonies, which take place next Tuesday and Wednesday, will also see more than 900 students picking up their degrees.
Mr Parry is known as one of the most original architects of his generation and has run his own award-winning practice Eric Parry Architects since 1983.
This has been responsible for several highly prestigious commercial projects in the City of London and West End, as well as designing the significant new wing for the Holburne, which was completed in 2011 and has won many prizes, despite initial criticism from some local people.
Professor Westwick is being recognised for his pioneering research developing new medicines for severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Professor Teresa Rees works at Cardiff University and is the principal investigator for a £1.2 million research project designed to assist employers to deliver equal pay.
During her 20-year career at the university Mrs Davies has seen the level of student accommodation double, to more than 2,450 on-campus rooms, more than 1,100 in the city and a further 700 scheduled to open by September 2014.
