Tom Janicot was this week elected as the new sports officer at the University of Bath.
Janicot, the current treasurer of the Student Union Sport Executive and chairman of the university's basketball club, hopes to stage a bigger and better Varsity Weekend, increase access to disabled student sport and increase support at home matches.
"I want to thank all of the sports clubs who welcomed me to join their sessions and really went out of their way to make sure I could try out," he said.
"This would not have been possible without the unbelievable effort my campaign team put in. These guys and girls worked day and night to make this a success, and without them I would not be where I am now."
