Schoolchildren in Bath have been brushing up on their cookery skills while at the same time raising money for a good cause.

The Key Stage 3 pupils at The Link School, in Frome Road, organised an International Dinner Party in order to support the charity War Child.

They worked together to come up with three menus inspired by cuisine from around the world, before cooking and serving the meals to parents, carers and members of staff.

War Child is a charity which improves the lives of young people across the globe who have been affected by conflict.

Thanks to the students' fundraising efforts they were able to donate a grand total of £165.

Julia Swanborough, pupil administrator at the school, which caters for children with behavioural difficulties, said everyone was proud of what had been achieved.

She said: "The event was a huge success with a great atmosphere, excellent service and some tasty food.

"All the pupils and teachers enjoyed being involved in a worthwhile event and they raised £165."
