A former Bath student is marking his 50th birthday by running his 50th competitive race at the city's half marathon.
Richard Wyatt, who works at Horseworld in Whitchurch, will be running the Bath Half on Sunday, March 3, eight days before his birthday. Since taking up running ten years ago, he has completed 49 races, including half marathons in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Tewkesbury and Swindon.
Mr Wyatt, who studied at what is now Bath Spa University, is running in memory of his father Dave Wyatt, who died from a heart attack in 1987, for the British Heart Foundation.
Mr Wyatt suffers from asthma, and controls the condition by using inhalers four times a day.
He said: "I can't think of a better way of marking this big birthday."
