Jane Austen fans have come together in Bath to celebrate the 200th anniversary of her best-loved work, Pride and Prejudice.
A 12-hour readathon began at 11am on Monday at The Jane Austen Centre in Gay Street, with people taking it in turns to read aloud from the famous novel.
The event was live streamed over the internet by creative media production students from the City of Bath College.
It proved a hit online, with people watching from as far afield as America and Australia.
Austen experts Pavel Douglas and Angela Barlow started proceedings, followed by a whole host of readers, including part-time Bath actor Ashley Green, linguist Dan Li Dunford, pupils from Beechen Cliff School and members of Bath Writers' Workshop.
Media lecturer James Purslow said: "The broadcast helped unite Jane Austen fans across the world."
