British Skeleton stars Shelley Rudman and Lizzy Yarnold are firmly in medal contention at the FIBT World Championships after an outstanding morning in St Moritz. Rudman leads the field after producing the two quickest runs - 1min 9.54secs and 1:09.49 - to put her exactly one second ahead of America's Noelle Pikus-Pace. And Yarnold, who rents a flat from Olympic champion Amy Williams in Bath, is also in the hunt for gold after clocking a combined time of 2:20.18 to sit third, 1.15secs behind her British team-mate. Donna Creighton - who is also based at British Skeleton's University of Bath headquarters - is 21st, nearly four seconds adrift of Rudman. The decisive third and fourth runs will take place tomorrow morning, when the men's competition - featuring Ed Smith, Dominic Parsons and Kristan Bromley - will also get under way.
