Dai Greene said he was glad to be enjoying athletics again after setting a new British 600m record at Saturday's British Athletics Glasgow International Match. The Bath-based 26-year-old took a break from the 400m hurdles to finish runner-up to America's Duane Solomon in 1min 16.22secs, breaking Ikem Billy's previous British best set back in 1985. Greene also beat fellow Brit Andrew Osagie – an Olympic 800m finalist – as he started to put behind him the disappointment of London 2012, where a long-standing knee injury contributed to him missing out on a medal. "I enjoyed running indoors for a change and doing a 600m," said the world 400m hurdles champion, who took time out from moving house in Combe Down to compete in Scotland.

"I was very much out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed testing myself. I'm pleased with the time and would love to do it again in the near future. "It's nice to get the national record. I knew that either Andrew or myself would get it so I just made sure I beat him to the line. "The competition between Andrew and myself is very friendly. We're all good friends here on the team. "You can't really read much into it other than that it was a good competitive race and I hope everyone enjoyed it." Eilidh Child, who trains alongside Greene at the University of Bath, set a new personal best of 52.88 as she finished fourth in the 400m on her first indoor appearance for five years. Paralympian Katrina Hart went up against two other members of Britain's bronze medal-wining T37 4x100m relay team – Olivia Breen and Jenny McLoughlin – in the 60m and came out on top in 9.00secs. That was three-tenths of a second quicker than Hart ran in Birmingham earlier this month and the 22-year-old said: "I knew I was in good shape and this week it came together really well. "It's brilliant for disability events to be here, the crowd was awesome. I think it will keep growing and growing."
