Olympians Lynne Hutchison and Ioanna Samara see City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics duo win 2e Fryslan Cup medals

Sarah Dennis and Gemma Lewis had support from two Olympians when City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics Club represented Great Britain at the renowned 2e Fryslan Cup in the Netherlands.

London 2012 star Lynne Hutchison, fresh from this summer's Commonwealth Games appearance, was attending her first international competition as a judge for the club, while Beijing 2008 Olympian Ioanna Samara went as coach.

And the two young gymnasts did them proud, with 17-year-old Dennis winning gold in the Level B intermediate senior category after scoring 9.95 in ribbon and 11.2 in clubs.

Lewis – who is also part of the High Performance Academy for Rhythmic Gymnastics and supported by Team Bath – narrowly missed out on silver by just 0.55 points in the Junior Level A elite competition.

The 14-year-old performed three quality routines, placing second in both clubs and hoop with scores of 11.85 and 11.5 respectively.

Lewis – who was only beaten to the title by two strong Russians – was also fourth in the ball with 10.9.
