Weather: Will Hurricane Gonzalo impact on the South West? Generally dry week ahead for Bath with mix of some light rain and sunshine

After a pleasant weekend with temperatures warmer than normal for the time of year, the week is forecast to begin damp with rain across the west this morning.

It will generally be a dry week though, with one or two patches of rain and temperatures will reach highs of 16 degrees by Thursday - only slightly less than at the weekend.

There could be some blustery winds as a result of Hurricane Gonzalo, but it is more likely to be felt in the north.

Monday: Cloudy all day with light rain in the morning. Winds likely to pick up more in the evening.

Tuesday: Light rain in the morning with winds ranging between 20 and 23mph, as the UK feels some of effects from Hurricane Gonzalo. Sunshine and top temperatures of 12 degrees in the afternoon but it is thought to be a chillier evening around eight degrees.

Wednesday: A dry day with some sunshine in the morning but thick cloud forming later in the day. Temperatures will remain between 13 and 11 degrees, including a warmer night.

Thursday: Again cloudy all day with some light rain in the evening. It could be a warm day for the time of year though, with highs of 16 degrees predicted.
