Almost 200 people turned out to hear Buddhist teacher Lama Jampa Thaye give a public talk entitled Arriving at Inner Freedom at Bath's Assembly Rooms.
One of the leading lights of Tibetan Buddhism in the West, British-born Lama Jampa is the spiritual director of the network of international Buddhist centres and groups known as Dechen.
Lama Jampa has a close connection with the South West. In 1977 he founded the first Buddhist centre in Bristol, the Sakya Centre, which has flourished since.
The centre later started Sakya Buddhism Bath, the group which runs meditation classes and introductory talks every Tuesday at 8pm at the Museum of Bath at Work in Julian Road.
