A city club is hoping the Bath Chronicle's Cash for your Community competition will help boost its efforts to reach a £30,000 fundraising target.
The Bath Canoe Club wants to improve access to its canoes and kayaks, which are used by its 250 members, and make it more accessible for wheelchair users.
Club chairman Paul Carroll said: "We want to improve the club's facilities for wider use. There are steep steps down to the river which we want to remodel with a gentle gradient."
The club has approached the governing body for canoeing and Sport England for support, but funding to aid the club's needs isn't guaranteed and the club has turned to the Chronicle's annual community giveaway.
Mr Carroll said: "Any money we will hopefully get from this scheme will improve the club and benefit more people who join in the future as well."
