Chas Hemmings has called on his Bath City team-mates to reproduce their Poole Town performance when they make the tricky trip to Shortwood United on Tuesday for a FA Cup third qualifying round replay (7.45pm).
Hemmings struck three minutes from time as City twice came from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw against Evo-Stik League Southern Division 1 South & West side Shortwood at Twerton Park on Saturday.
It is the second round in succession where City have failed to overcome lower-league opposition at home but they did record a 2-0 win at Poole last week and Hemmings is hoping they can avoid an upset once again.
"I don't think I've played at Shortwood before but the lads have been saying it's not the best place to go, not the best pitch," said the former Weston-super-Mare striker, who notched his first goal since a summer move to City.
"We have to go, though, and we went to Poole and got a win so hopefully we can do that again on Tuesday.
"It was a frustrating game on Saturday. We had a lot of play in the first half but didn't take our chances and they obviously they got their goal which gave them a boost.
"We got back on top and had a lot of chances, got back into the game through Ben [Adelsbury] but then they've scored on the break again. We had to come back again and luckily we did.
"It was my first goal and it couldn't have come at a better time. It was frustrating at the start of the season, when I wasn't playing very much, but I'm definitely getting fitter after this run of games and it was nice to get the goal.
"I felt better – I won a few more headers and almost got the first goal when it came back off the crossbar. I've played in midfield a bit as well but I used to play there so I don't mind that."
