Australia scrum-half Will Genia has admitted that the chance to play alongside NRL Grand Final hero Sam Burgess at Bath Rugby "is most definitely very appealing".

Genia is believed to be one of the high-profile players that Bath owner Bruce Craig has lined up to move to The Rec following the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

And he did nothing to discount those rumours after admitting he had been blown away by Burgess's lionhearted performance for South Sydney Rabbitohs in last week's NRL Grand Final victory over Canterbury Bulldogs.

North Queensland Cowboys fan Genia told The Courier Mail: "I jumped on the Rabbitohs bandwagon. Those heroics from Burgess to play with a fractured cheekbone tells you everything about the character and commitment he's going to throw into his switch to rugby at Bath.

"One of the appeals of playing overseas is playing with guys you'd never normally get a chance to play beside. The opportunity to play with a Burgess is most definitely very appealing.

"He's got the intricacies of rugby to learn but putting 110 per cent into rugby will make him an outstanding backrower in time or even a centre."

Genia, aged 26, added: "I'm definitely interested to play overseas at some stage and also to experience it when I'm young and can make an impact in perhaps helping to rebuild a club."
