Supporters of World Peace Day attended a dawn picnic and a ceremony in Kingston Parade on Sunday.
World Peace Day is a United Nations international day of peace, ceasefire and non-violence.
The ceremony included a speech from MP Don Foster and peace songs performed by members of Su Hart's choir.

These included a yoga event at Yogi Bodhi, a musical gig at St Alphege's Church Hall and a multi-faith walk.
Mr Foster said: "Sunday was a really great occasion and all thanks go to Afrel and her team of volunteers who helped put this together,
"The message of peace is such an important one and needs to be spread as far as possible."
