Goldfinger has recently been the best Bond film ever causing Bond fans everywhere to rejoice. After all, it has everything that would go on to make Bond the mega franchise it is today. Gadgets, girls and one liners galore. What's not to like? But if Goldfinger takes the top spot what would make up the other four spots on a top five list? Here's our other top four Bond films.
2: Goldeneye
Pierce Brosnan's first outing as Bond was also the first Bond movie not to based on one Ian Fleming's novels. Largely considered to be the movie that modernised the franchise it recast M as a woman and had a plot that centred around dissolution of the Soviet union which was happening in the real world at the time of release. Brosnan is at his best here as he tracks down a rogue double 0 agent played by Sean Bean.
3: Skyfall
It was either this or Casino Royale and frankly, Skyfall is a better film. The third outing from new boy Daniel Craig proved to be a huge hit with Bond fans after the letdown that was Quantum of Solace. It proved to be a return to form for the franchise as a whole as we were gifted homages to the previous great Bond films. We had Bond faking his own death at the beginning ala You Only Live Twice and the DB5 from Goldfinger.
4: From Russia With Love
Another Connery film and one that would set the mould for every Bond that would follow, right down to the title sequences/individual theme tunes now synonymous with the franchise. Dr No, while good, was not really a hard act to follow so at the time From Russia With Love had a lot of freedom to push boundaries. We were introduced to the vengeful side of SPECTRE and the idea that themes from other Bond movies could bleed into one another.
5: The Spy Who Loved Me
Yes, Roger Moore Bond film has made the list. Just. If only for the opening ten minutes or so and the fact it has the best Bond theme. The plot of the bad guy is over the top as is Richard Kiel as Jaws but it has a real air of likability. It is easily the best of the Moore canon. It has everything a Bond movie needs and doesn't outstay its welcome.
