Manchester United and Arsenal look set to be frustrated in their respective efforts to sign Angel di Maria and Sami Khedira as Champions League winners Real Madrid are not prepared to sell the duo.
New United boss Louis van Gaal has long been linked with a move for Argentina winger di Maria, while German World Cup winner Khedira has been on Arsenal's radar throughout the summer.
According to the Daily Star, however, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti is unwilling to sanction the sales of two prized assets despite another influx in talent to the Bernabeu this summer.
Ancelotti said: "They are Real Madrid players. The transfer market is over and we won't re-open it."
