Two young sisters will run the Vitality Bath Half Marathon in March next year in memory of their late grandfather.
Twenty-one-year-old twins Jo and Finella Nugent, from Bristol, are running the Vitality Bathalf to raise money for the two charities that cared for their grand- father John Appleton when he was suffering with cancer: Princess Alice Hospice and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
"We initially started running for these charities because they are really important to us. Both did an incredible job taking care of Grandpa John," Finella said.
After completing various 10k runs and half marathons, the duo decided to challenge themselves further by signing up for the Bath Half.
They are also spurred on by the memory of their grandfather: "He was such an honourable, strong man. We look up to him a lot."
The sisters' long-term goal is to take part in the Virgin London Marathon, and they are confident that completing the Bath Half will put them on the right track.
