Oliver and Amelia were the most popular names given to newborns last year.
Oliver has replaced Harry as the favourite boy baby name, while Amelia topped of the girl's rankings for a third year running. The list, compiled for births in England and Wales in 2013, shows Oscar rising 10 places to 7, with Poppy a new entry to the girls big league, shunting out Lily as it rose from 13 to 7.
Ronnie (90, +15), Teddy (86, +55), Austin (94, +108) and Albert (99, +109) were all new in the top 100 for boys, continuing a trend for what might be termed 'vintage' names. Also new for the boys 100 were Ibrahim (86, +18) and Felix (91, +23). Rhys (101), Ellis (103), Kayden (104), Bailey (113), Taylor (118) and Kyle (120) slipped out.
The theme was replicated for girls, with Victoria (88, +18), Darcy (93, +14) and Beatrice (19, +19) booting out Keira (110) and Caitlin (114). A draw at 100 saw three join and two leave.
