Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Chile World Cup midfielder Arturo Vidal from Serie A winners Juventus.
United have been chasing £45million-rated Vidal all summer, allegedly agreeing a five-year contract with the midfielder but not able to agree terms with Juve.
Now they face the prospect of losing their long-term target to Munich, with the Daily Express saying that Pep Guardiola is ready to step in after losing Toni Kroos to Real Madrid and Javi Martinez to a cruciate ligament injury.
