It's Thursday and is it me or has the week flown by in a flurry of pretty good TV? All week the Beeb having been knocking them out of the park with hit after hit. That said, the Great British Bake Off was another far too intense experience last night.
Thursday night, at least for another week or so, means it's time to devour another episode of The Honourable Woman which reaches its penultimate episode tonight on BBC 2 at 9pm. Like it or not the pressure will be ramped up again as things reach boiling point on both sides. Realising Israeli powers only ever wanted to use the Steins for their own political and intelligence affairs, Nessa angrily forges ahead with the data-cabling initiative in partnership with Palestinian businessman Jalal El-Amin, but events take a dark turn during a visit to the West Bank. Meanwhile, Shlomo and Hayden-Hoyle both discover the CIA was also aware of the Israeli wiretap, with Monica Chatwin helping them to covertly listen in. Cue domm filled music, teasing you into watching the final episode next week. As if you wouldn't if you've come this far.
However, in the interest of Sky+ (which should be sponsoring this column for the amount of times I mention them) you might want to swap The Honourable Woman for Who Do You Think You Are over on BBC 1 at 9pm. I wouldn't usually recommend something like this except well, it's Brian Blessed. Booming, hiking, King Vultan himself, Brian Blessed will be tracing his ancestry back to discover where his spirit of adventure comes from. It looks like a lot of fun if nothing else but fans of the show will probably get a kick out of this as well as Blessed, rather predictably, has a very rich family history.
So there you have it, I must go now I think that's Sky on the phone...
