Brazil 2014 World Cup: Frank Lampard coy over England future after draw with Costa Rica

Frank Lampard would not be drawn on his international future after England's 0-0 draw with Costa Rica.

The 36-year-old won his 106th cap in the game and leaves Chelsea next week, with speculation rife that he will also call time on his England career.

"I really enjoyed being involved today," said Lampard. "I love playing for my country and that was obvious out there.

"I am 36 and love to still do it, I feel fresh and if I feel like I can offer help then I will do but it is too soon at the moment to say.

"I think we should have won that game," he added. "It was a difficult game to approach; I think we did everything we could do.

"We showed a bit of character and we prepared right over the last few days, everyone knows how tough it has been.

"It wasn't a vintage performance but we had enough chances to win the game for sure. As I say, I thought we played some good stuff, some bright stuff at times and created enough chances to win.

"We needed to show something to the fans. They kept singing throughout, they expect more and we expect more. The way they have been in this game and throughout the tournament has been superb and they deserve a lot of credit. It is a shame we couldn't give them a longer trip."
