MasterChef champion Ping Coombes at Bath's street food festival

MasterChef winner Ping Coombes has joined hundreds of people to go on a gastronomic journey around the world.
The 33-year-old of Fairfield Park helped to celebrate food from as far afield as Asia, Europe and the Caribbean at today's Bath Street Feast in front of the Royal Crescent.
The free event brought together local food suppliers and vendors to celebrate 'Bath's street food revolution' with fine dining available at affordable prices.
Ping, the 10th winner of the popular BBC TV show, was approached by people wanting to say hello, congratulate her on her win and take photographs.
She said: "It's good fun. It's great to see so many people enjoying themselves.
"I've always said that Bath should have more food events, there certainly isn't a lack of talent to host more events. There are lots of local chefs cooking great dishes."
Ping is busy "juggling job offers" that have come in since her win a month ago but she said she liked to reserve her weekends for family time.
She was at Bath Street Feast with husband Andrew and 18-month-old daughter Alexa and stopped to speak to the Bath Chronicle as she was queuing up for some Caribbean cuisine. She said: "I'm starving, I think I'm going to go for the jerk chicken, I love jerk chicken. It will be nice to eat someone else's cooking."
Ping and Michelin starred chef Martin Blunos, who has recently opened Blunos restaurant, hosted the raffle and got involved in cooking competitions.
Amy Ironside, 25, and Craig Maidment, 28, of Midsomer Norton said they wanted to attend the event as they "love everything about food."
Amy said: "It's been really good, it's something different to do.
"We saw Ping which made our day. We love watching MasterChef so it's great that the winner was from Bath."
The event also included live music with 20 acts on two stages and children's entertainment, including face painting, bouncy castle and circus acts.
Lyndsay Puranananda of Newbridge was at the event to cheer on her musician husband Jay Zieseniss.
She said: "It's a great event with a really nice atmosphere. It's a good idea to mix food and music, it seems to work really well."
Denise Rogers, who organised the event with husband Chris, said: "It's going really well and everyone is having a good time.
"It's great to see so many people here. We always knew food, music and sunshine would make a fantastic day-out."
The event continues until 8pm today (Sunday).
