A 60-year-old man had his sunglasses stolen from his head while he was sitting on a bench in the middle of the day in Sydney Gardens in Bath.
The victim was approached by a man who stole his sunglasses and grabbed him by the shirt.
He managed to break free and went to the nearby Holburne Museum to call the police.
A 27-year-old man was later arrested in the park on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The incident happened at around 2.55pm on Monday, June 9, and anyone who witnessed it is asked to contact Bath police on 101 quoting reference number 57790/14.
