The Theatre Royal Bath is delighted to announce that Dani Harmer, one of the biggest stars of children's television in BBC history, will play the title role in the pantomime Cinderella this Christmas. Joining Dani are Gavin & Stacey star Melanie Walters as Fairy Godmother and local comedian Jon Monie as Buttons in UK Productions' glittering 2014 show – which appears at the Theatre Royal Bath from Thursday, December 11 to Sunday, January 11.
In the greatest pantomime of them all, Cinderella is treated as a servant by her wicked (not to mention ugly) stepsisters. She needs all the magic her Fairy Godmother can muster, along with help from her best friend, Buttons, if she is to meet her Prince Charming, and find true love before the clock strikes midnight. With its enchanting story, side-splitting comedy, lavish settings and adorable miniature ponies, Cinderella is the perfect entertainment for the festive season and this truly traditional production will ensure that every family member has a ball.
Dani Harmer is known to millions of children for her starring role in CBBC's highly successful series The Story of Tracy Beaker and Tracy Beaker Returns, winner of the 2010 Children's BAFTA for Best Drama. Dani starred as Tracy Beaker from the age of twelve and played the character for six successful series, receiving a BAFTA nomination for her performance in 2010.
Her success on the show led Dani to take part in the 2013 Strictly Come Dancing National Tour dancing with Pasha Kovalev. On stage, Dani started her acting career aged six performing in the West End musical Tommy, before appearing in the national tour of Annie.
Making dreams come true as Fairy Godmother this Christmas will be Melanie Walters, best known on television as Stacey's mum, Gwen West, in BBC's BAFTA award-winning series Gavin & Stacey.
On stage, her numerous credits range from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and Sheridan's The Rivals to Willy Russell's Educating Rita and Blood Brothers.
Jon Monie returns by popular demand this Christmas to play Buttons, his mischievous comedy and hilarious antics have made him a huge favourite with Bath's pantomime audiences.
Set to thrill West Country audiences, Martin Dodd's UK Productions return to the Theatre Royal Bath to present Cinderella following 2013's record-breaking pantomime Peter Pan.
