People are being urged to keep their eyes peeled for a missing Olympus camera which contains pictures of a now-widowed-man and his wife.
The camera is thought to have been lost in a taxi between the abbey and The Tyning, Widcombe Hill on May 30, but it has not yet been handed in to police.
The camera's owner Ted Walther, who is 85-years-old and lives in Maine in America, has been visiting Bath for the last 20 years.
He missed one year because of the death of his wife Joan, but he returned to Bath this year, a city they both loved, for the anniversary of her death.
Ted is appealing to anyone who may know the whereabouts of the camera. He even wishes to just have the memory card inside it returned because the photos are very important to him.
Liz Daniel is a family friend who owns Highclere self contained apartments where Ted and Joan have always stayed.
"He is a well known face around here and everyone knows Ted very well," she said.
"He doesn't care so much about the camera. He just wants Joan back. The photos really mean so much to him."
This was the last trip Ted will make to Bath and if anyone is able to help they should contact Liz on 07767883973.
