A 13-year-old boy needed hospital treatment after being bitten by a dog in Bath. The incident happened near the Bath Riverside development at around 7.30pm last Thursday, when the victim was playing with a rugby ball with a friend. A man walked past with two dogs, a lurcher and a short-haired Staffie-cross, and, for apparently no reason, the Staffie-cross ran over and bit the boy twice on his right knee. He suffered two puncture wounds and needed hospital treatment. After the attack, the man simply called the dog off and wandered off towards Sainsbury's at Green Park without checking if the boy was harmed. The man is described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, of a slim build and around 5ft 6ins tall, with dark hair and possibly speaking with a slight American accent. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bath police on 101, quoting crime reference number 54009/14.
